- Organizes a program that addresses school speech and language therapy goals per the students’ IEPs.
- Works cooperatively with school personnel to accomplish the goals and objectives of the local education agency per the student’s IEP.
- Coordinates speech and language therapy services with student services provided by other school personnel per the student’s IEP.
- Maintains records of the speech and language program and prepares periodic reports as required.
- Conducts speech and language therapy screenings per the PPT recommendations.
- Administers formal and informal (ongoing & curriculum-based) assessments based upon PPT decisions.
- Analyzes and interprets information to make relevant school-based recommendations regarding the need for speech and language therapy services.
- Provides appropriate information on an informal or formal basis regarding speech and language therapy programs through consultation, trainings, and/or professional development.
- Supervises Clinical Fellows, SLP-Assistants (SLP-A) and interns, if applicable.
- Collaborates/consults with classroom teachers in the management of disorders that limits abilities to communicate verbally and perform daily functional communication.
- Manages the facilities, materials and equipment, including assistive technology if needed, necessary to the delivery of services.
- Plans evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students per the PPT process & adjusts intervention strategies based upon student performance and data collection.
- Uses evidence-based methods and techniques appropriate to stated objectives per the students’ IEP.
- Participate in Crisis Intervention Team meetings, PLCs, and weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Engages in continuing education and professional growth activities related to speech-language-hearing and education.
