We are currently recruiting for a School Educator I to function as an Intervention Teacher for the Child and Adolescent Program (CAP) at Central Regional Hospital.The K-12 Interventionist plays a critical role in supporting student success by conducting universal screeners, implementing research-based interventions, and overseeing the Section 504 program. This position requires collaboration with educators, administrators, and families to ensure students receive the appropriate academic and behavioral support to thrive in a school environment.The normal work hours for this position are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday however flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. - Knowledge of the provision of services to children and young adults, including knowledge of relevant laws, standards and regulations
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, treatment team members, and other necessary staff in the development or revision of IEPs
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, parents, treatment team members and various external contacts
- Considerable knowledge of the psychology and education of child and adolescent development, psychiatric diagnoses, and behavioral and emotional symptoms and their impact on school behavior and educational achievement
- Ability to use computers for communication, report-writing, file-storage and accessing databases
