Performs general patient care including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and continuous observation under the guidance, mentoring, and
oversight of the Registered Nurse. Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Provides routine treatments and interventions consistent with the educational level and skills learned in the academic environment
- Performs advanced skills after achieving demonstrated competencies such as: nasogastric tube irrigation, suctioning, and removal;
Endoscopic Gastrostomy); and tracheostomy care.
- Performs increased or continuous visual observation for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients as assigned and utilizes
risk patients.
- Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs.
- Maintainssafety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Ensures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
- Followsstandard precautions. Adheresto Hand Hygiene and PPE procedures.
- Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the registered nurse (RN) and other members of the
- Participatesin handoffreport and conducts purposeful hourly rounding on patients.
- Documentsinformation according toOrlando Health specific policies and guidelines.
- Transports and assists patients through the admission and discharge process. Also transports Baker Act, behavioral health, and
- Maintains a safe and clean environment.
- Provides exceptionalservice and care to all patients, families, customers, and team members.
- Transports and delivers items, equipment, blood products, and medications (excluding substances and IV chemotherapy drugs)
- May have limited accessto areasstoring medications.
- Receives and processesincoming calls, patient calls, and guest requests.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal,
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program and preparing to enter the
