Operations Manager - Lumber & Building MaterialsWe are looking for an experienced and efficient Operations Manager with experience in the Lumber, Building Materials, and/or Construction industries. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall supervision and responsibility for the lumberyard, shipping & receiving, maintenance, and dispatching operations, including duties and tasks relating to operations staff.   • Supervise and oversee direct reports inAssistant Ops, Yard Leaders, Material Handlers, Dispatch and Shipping & Receiving Departments
  • Monitor scheduling of daily assignments and OT hours
  • Responsible for inventory accountability
  • Advise General Manager on equipment recommendations for additions or replacements and help develop replacement schedules
  • Coordinate repairs and PM service for all rolling stock and operations equipment
  • Develop and monitor production schedules and adjust when necessary to meet customer demand
  • Troubleshooting and dealing with problems involving several variables around the yard
  • Read and do takeoffs of complex material, blueprints, quotes and specs
  • Calculating and using advanced math formulas for day-to-day operations
Requirements of the Operations Manager:
  • Minimum 3-5+ years ofOperationsManagementand/orrelatedmanagementexperience
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent certification in related fields
  • Proficient in Lumber, Building Materials, Millwork, Windows, and Doors
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record with CDL license preferred
  • Experience operating Forklifts and light machinery
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with Dispatching and Inventory software knowledgepreferred
