  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
  • Experience with energy transaction structuring, US power markets (wholesale and retail), utility rates, renewable energy technologies, or power infrastructure project management.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 8 years of experience in energy project development, utility procurement, or finance/consulting roles with similar responsibilities.
  • Experience with power transmission and distribution, telecommunications infrastructure, data center technology, industrial-class electrical and cooling systems, or related technical areas.
  • Experience managing utility agreements, addressing energy-related issues, applying financial modeling and implementing clean energy initiatives.
  • Experience in indirect taxes, economic development policy, infrastructure development, agreement drafting, and presentation development, along with data center real estate markets.

It's a big job that involves everything from operating underwater cables to finding data center space. In this role you combine your deep market knowledge with tech industry savvy to find solutions that support Google's growth. You'll work with specific teams to oversee vendor and partner relationships. Your successful management skills have the potential to impact every part of the business and save Google millions of dollars in operating costs. You'll ensure that we receive contract compliance on our third-party agreements, while identifying the most cost-effective solutions for our needs. You'll take lead on special projects, manage vendors and present your recommendations to Google leadership.As a Data Center Strategic Negotiator, you will apply your real estate expertise, technology industry knowledge and understanding of electrical and HVAC systems to secure development-ready sites and support Google's growth. You will guide project teams, oversee off-site utility infrastructure, manage relationships with officials, utilities and AHJ’s (Authority Having Jurisdiction), and present portfolio recommendations to our technical leadership. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.   • Lead negotiations and structure energy supply, renewable energy power purchase agreements, partnerships/JVs, and other data center-related energy contracts.
  • Contribute to the growth of Google's data center portfolio by driving energy due diligence during site selection and project development.
  • Set strategy for Google's energy procurement program, ensuring the procurement of carbon-free energy to support Google's clean energy goals.
  • Develop and drive agreement approvals, investment memos, and transaction materials with executives and partner teams, collaborating across teams on execution.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers including utilities, IPPs, project developers and other partners.
