DescriptionWe are seeking a certified Special Education Teacher to provide services and support to students in accordance with New York State and Federal regulations.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction and services to students as outlined in their IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Draft, develop, and maintain accurate IEPs and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and staff to support student progress and behavior management.
  • Lead or participate in CSE meetings, providing data and insights.
  • Supervise and support classroom aides.
  • Manage all special education records and required paperwork.
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Certification: Hold a valid New York State (NYS) Special Education Teacher certification.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree is required, and a master's degree in Special Education is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with students with disabilities, including the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of NYS and federal special education regulations.
