- Ensure food quality, presentation, and ticket times are the top priorities for each shift
- Minimize waste through proper training, weekly review/adjustments of prep lists, and department pre/post shift
- Collaborate with kitchen manager on weekly morale-boosting ideas and weekly focuses
- Keep cleanliness as an ongoing priority with weekly and daily cleaning, identify and assign larger tasks, checklists, and follow through
- Responsible for health and safety compliance with respect to Health department regulations, including ongoing training with team members, addressing issues at hand, maintaining temp logs, and storage hierarchy
- Report directly to the kitchen manager and participate in weekly 1-on-1 meetings to keep communication strong
- Ensure quality food is leaving the kitchen at all times by floating from station to station, supporting where needed throughout the shift
- Oversee the prep team while ensuring quality is there and recipes are being followed
- Assign temp chart completion and ensure they are completed four times a day and are being done correctly
- Work with KM on cross-training plans and new-hire training
- Responsible for overseeing new-hire training. If you are not the trainer, you will check in each shift on progress and needs
- Ensure each shift that all measuring scoops are in place and used accurately.
- Responsible for food orders - C&M, SOFO, Ciminillo's
- Actively coach team members to continuously improve skillsets and knowledge
- Conduct roll call and make sure staff are 100% in uniform before allowing clock in
- Responsible for nightly check-outs at each station and ensuring their area is approved before allowing the team to leave when the KM is not closing
- Knowledge of or certification in safe food handling procedures
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen focused leadership strongly preferred
- Proven record of reliability and ability to exercise good judgment
- A positive and upbeat personality, capable of inspiring others
- Basic Business Math Skills and computer literacy
- This position is a full-time, 50-hour, exempt salaried position
- This position reports directly to the Kitchen Manager
- This position is 100% in-person
