Job Title: Accounting InternJob Function: FinanceJob Overview:The Accounting Intern supports the implementation and maintenance of Unigen’s General Ledger and Accounting Journal and involves supporting the interpretation of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions. Reports to Corporate Controller, Finance and located at the Unigen Headquarters in Newark, CA.Primary Job Responsibilities:1. Support Sr. Accountant in implementing and maintaining General Ledger (GL) and Journal accounting systems:
  • Support the GL close process i.e. match AP and AR aging reports with GL
  • Assist in preparing accurate journal entries with appropriate back-up documentation
  • Aid in preparing account reconciliation schedules, review subsidiaries’ trial balance and reports
  • Assist in consolidation and elimination Journal entries
  • Participate in monthly balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP, including bank reconciliations and GL reconciliations
  • Support fixed assets, including monthly Journal entry and reconciliation, monthly depreciation process management, periodical fixed asset inspection, and documentation
2. Assist Sr. Accountant providing record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions:
  • Assist in collecting and providing relevant data for monthly financial analysis (monthly margin analysis reports, P&L by customers reports)
  • Assist in financial forecasting and planning
3. Assist Sr. Accountant in coordinating with external auditors and preparing reports for internal managers/stakeholders:
  • Support in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP for US and Consolidated financials including Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
  • Assist in coordinating with external auditor in annual audit and various tax topics and other ad hoc analysis projects and financial reporting as needed
Other duties and responsibilities related to accounting, as assigned.Required Education and Experience:1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent GAAP knowledge.2. Minimum 2 years of work experience in Accounting and Finance.3. Working knowledge and experience interpreting and applying US GAAP.Salary Range: $29.00 - $31.00/ Hour
