- Practice lead with regard to full-service client management: which includes communication with government entities, internal stakeholders and clients related to a single engagement as well as effectively communicating to client leadership (including C-Suite) complex and challenging tax issues and strategy.
- Maintaining book of business and increasing revenue through scope expansion and cross selling strategies
- Ability to manage clients across the Country in multiple industries relating to sale and use tax issues including but not limited to due diligence projections, audits/appeals, VDA’s, compliance, etc.
- Supervising day-to-day tasks that ensure successful completion of engagements, reviewing the team’s work product and developing the team’s skillset
- Contributing to thought leadership, networking opportunities, speaking engagements, webinars and social media to build Altus brand.
- Practice management: Lead by example with full adoption of processes, technology, standards for consistency and improvement across practice, including managing team members through the process with positivity, monitoring workload for balance and forecasting financial revenue for the practice
- Support business development activities by acting as subject matter expert to close sales
- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance or another related field preferred)
- CPA. CMI or JD preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant sales/use tax experience including leading & developing a team of professionals.
- Extensive experience in transaction advisory, audits and appeals, exposure mitigation, VDA’s and compliance
- Excellent technical research skills
- Frequent travel to attend client and/or state & local economic development meetings.
