Our TEAM is ready.What impact you’ll make:As an Intern of the Grid Engineering Team, you will be an active contributor to the enhancement of grid reliability and efficiency and supporting initiatives that facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid.Job DescriptionWhat you’ll do (Job Responsibilities)
- Collaborate on Grid Reliability Projects: Work with the engineering team to analyze current grid systems and identify areas for improvement. Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing grid performance, reducing downtime, and improving overall reliability.
- Support Renewable Energy Integration: Assist in evaluating and implementing strategies for integrating renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, into the grid. Conduct research and analysis to assess the impact of these sources on grid stability and capacity.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data related to grid operations and renewable energy integration. Use this data to support model development and testing of new technologies or methodologies that could enhance grid performance.
- Participate in Cross-Functional Teams: Engage with various departments and teams to support GE Vernova's mission of electrification and decarbonization. Collaborate on initiatives that drive the energy transition and contribute to a sustainable energy future.
- Innovative Problem Solving: Utilize analytical skills to troubleshoot and propose innovative solutions to engineering challenges in grid operations and renewable energy integration.
- Report and Present Findings: Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project outcomes, research findings, and recommendations. Communicate these insights effectively to team members and stakeholders.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university or credentialed software accelerator program.
- Degree focused in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Software Engineering Power Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Informatics, Information Science/Technology, Management Information Systems, Security and Risk Analysis, or other relevant STEM majors
- Minimum cumulative or in-major 3.0/4.0 GPA.
- Must commit to working full time (40 hrs/wk) during the internship.
- Graduating between December 2026 or May 2027
