Job Summary/Basic FunctionInterns with the Student Health and Wellness (SHW) office obtain hands-on experience in their program of study in preparation for graduation and employment in their chosen field.All SHW interns:
- Serve as peer educators for fellow WSU Students, creating and providing health communication in a variety of formats (written, visual, social media, interpersonal, presentations, etc.), and at various on-campus events.
- Assist with programming, marketing, outreach and promotional efforts.
- Research common campus concerns and evidence-based solutions to address them.
- Maintain familiarity with campus and community resources.
- Work on an interdisciplinary team with fellow interns.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Undergraduates: during your time with us, must be registered for 12 credit hours (or 6 for summer)
- Graduates: during your time with us, must be registered for 6 credit hours
- Eligible for internship credit through your program of study (please meet with your department advisor for eligibility criteria)
- Majoring in Health Promotion, Nutrition Education, Public Health, Health Administration, or graduate students from a related program of study
Preferred Qualifications- Preference is given to students who are approaching graduation.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading., Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection).
