We are currently seeking DevOps Engineer to support deployment and sustainment activities for A40 department at Naval Surface Warfare Center.Essential Functions/Job Duties:Advise on design and implementation of a software & network infrastructure software development environment that deploys physical and virtual machinesEvaluate proposed hardware network infrastructure changes across any/all system and network requirements (e.g. deployment, integration, configure, upgrade, patch, physical vs. virtual, etc). Consider the organization's entire IT infrastructure when making changes and improvementsGuide organization in designing, building, testing and deploying changes to existing softwareImplement cloud development environment such as Amazon Web Service or other virtual hosting services to support software development tools and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline.Automate manual processes in regards to software development life cycleAutomate software build and test pipeline to support development and distribution of software artifactsDefine tools needed for cloud based data repositories and Configuration Management of the Software Development Program.Conduct daily system checksSupport code deployments to Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)Perform CI/CD pipeline patching, upgrades, and vulnerability scans, including Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scansCapture new processes and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Manage GitLab groupsImplement Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)Will be 100% onsite at NSWC DahlgrenMust be able to provide occasional, off-hours (e.g. evening) supportEquipment Used:Desktop systems across multiple security domainsTypical Working Conditions:General office environment with USG provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipmentTEA Corporate laptop will be provided at the discretion of Executive ManagementEssential Physical Tasks:Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.Possibility of Domestic travel up to 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.Skills/Qualifications:At least 5 years' experience supporting code deployments to a cloud environmentExperience with containerization technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)Must be proficient in Windows OSMust have active Security+ certificationPreferred:Experience working with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kubernetes (ELK) stacksAdvanced AWS certifications (e.g. DevOps Engineer Professional, Solutions Architect Professional)Elasticsearch and Kibana certificationsKubernetes Administrator certificationCompTIA CASP or CISSP certification.Work Schedule: Std 40Minimum Education Requirements:Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, EE, ME, IE, Physics or related disciplineRequired Certifications:DevOps CertificationU.S. Citizenship is requiredSecurity Clearance:Candidates must have an active TS clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government TS/SCI security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score).
