- Oversight of capital equipment inventory and asset management tracking in Main OR.
- Aides in identifying items like positioners, pads, drapes, and basic OR noncapital equipment for annual inspection and replacement.
- Helps with identifying lead that requires certification and helping to coordinating to get it compliant.
- Works with Business Manager to identify equipment that requires a service contract to ensure equipment functionality for the delivery of patient care.
- Collaborates with clinical staff to initiate service calls for equipment or planned maintenance and will track repairs/maintenance through completion.
- Monitors manufacturer’s warranties for new equipment and works to ensure continuity of service coverage for all equipment upon warrant expiration.
- Communicates on-going equipment needs to Main OR leadership.
- Supports departmental capital planning process through identification of equipment that is either end-of-life or end-of-service.
- Works with departmental leadership to implement and monitor vendor performance and compliance with contractual performance expectations.
- Ensures vendor compliance with Joint Commission Regulations.
- Collaborates with Biomedical Engineering Team when necessary for equipment repairs as well as receiving/shipping of equipment to vendors for repairs.
- Maintains Storage Areas and monitors equipment daily to ensure it is in proper working order.
- Works with Clinical Staff to remove outdated equipment.
- Helps to ensure regulatory readiness with competition of needed environmental rounds and logs.
- Maintaining operating room cases and ordering.
- Labeling and identifying equipment and locations.
- Proper cleaning and maintaining equipment rooms and equipment.
- Education – CA’s on the proper handling of equipment.
- Setting up microscopes for surgery.
- This position may provide support for coordination and support of moving equipment for construction projects

- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
- Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($3400)
