- Assist senior automotive technicians in diagnosing vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Learn to perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working in the automotive repair shop.
- Gain familiarity with automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Assist in repairing and replacing worn or defective parts, including belts, hoses, spark plugs, and brakes.
- Shadow experienced technicians during complex repair procedures to learn best practices and techniques.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used for each repair or maintenance task.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and tools.
- Continuously seek opportunities for learning and skill development through training programs and workshops.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Provide your own tools/toolbox.
- Enrolled or willing to enroll in an automotive technician apprenticeship program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive repair.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and components.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy parts and equipment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Previous experience in automotive repair or maintenance.
- Completion of vocational training in automotive technology or related field.
- Familiarity with computerized diagnostic tools and software.
- Certifications from reputable automotive organizations (e.g., ASE certifications).
