Automation Technician CJob Description:The Automation Technician C supports production by monitoring, and adjusting equipment, as necessary, displaying efforts towards process improvements to reduce or eliminate scrap, improve productivity, maintain specified quality standards, and add value to the product.This job description lists major areas of responsibility and additional job activities may be added at any time.Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnjam and restart automated assembly processesSet-up and start-up automated production equipmentMaintain production standards as neededPerform and record routine inspectionsRecord pertinent data for inter-shift communicationMaintain order and cleanliness of departmentMay assist in the material handling as necessaryOther duties and projects as determined by business needs and productionResponsible for sustaining quality standards of in-process and fully-assembled productsMaintain Total Productive Maintenance listAssist in modifications and repairs to existing equipmentEducation, Skills, and ExperienceKnowledge of LOTO practices and proper machine guardingHigh school diploma, or equivalent, requiredWorking knowledge of the proper use of hand tools used to repair and maintain automated assembly equipmentProficient communication skills with multiple levels of employeesStrong math skills and mechanical aptitudeForklift certification required1 – 2 years of previous manufacturing experienceSuccessful completion of mechanical aptitude testBasic knowledge of metrology and the use of measuring equipmentPhysical and Weight Lifting DemandsThe physical and weight lifting demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
