You bring a passion for hospice, seeking teachable moments everywhere, and educate patients, caregivers, and the communities you serve on the benefits of compassionate, dignified end-of-life care.WHERE YOU'LL WORKYou will spend most of your time caring for hospice patients who have been admitted to an inpatient unit (IPU) in a hospital, nursing facility, or hospice house. Each IPU provides round-the-clock care to patients whose symptoms cannot be managed effectively in a home setting.Once a week, you'll attend a formal meeting to discuss cases with members of your interdisciplinary team, including social workers, chaplains, and nurses. All of these roles collaborate to provide holistic support for the patients and families we serve.WHAT'S EXPECTED FROM YOUVITAS physicians have exceptional interpersonal skills. You should be in good standing on the medical staff of an accredited hospital and have a working knowledge of oncology and the principles of palliative medicine.
