The Individual Success Program (ISP) is seeking an 8-hour Intinerant Behavior Interventionist for the 2022-2023 school year to support in classrooms throughout Lincoln Public Schools: Humann and Robinson Elementary, Lux Middle, East High, and Northwest High Schools, and the Independent Living Center. Students placed within the ISP need intensive behavioral, mental health, and life skills support. The Behavior Interventionist provides assistance to the staff to address and maintain appropriate student behavior. Specifically, the role of the part-time Itinerant Behavior Interventionist will be to cover absences and provide support as assigned. Additionally, this person may assist in other areas such as instruction, recreation, classroom organization, and general supervision of students. All activities are performed under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher along with the building and program administrators.A strong candidate for this position has experience working with children with behavioral issues, disruptive and/or at risk youth; must have the ability to create strong positive relationships with students, staff, and families; have a willingness to be trained in behavior techniques and instructional strategies; demonstrates effective communication/crisis intervention/resolution/mediation skills; as well as understands and applies the practices of cultural proficiency with students, staff and families.Position requirements: An associate's degree or at least 48 semester hours of college credit (equates to 72 quarter system hours). Successful candidate for this position will be required to submit an official transcript to verify they have met the educational requirement posted.
