- Build a model that predicts the impact promotions have on demand and recommend inventory purchase quantities to ensure we maintain high service levels throughout the promotion.
- Forecast supplier purchase order lead times with prediction intervals
- Create an optimization model that prioritizes what we buy from a supplier, while ensuring the total amount purchased fits within a truckload space constraint. The model should evaluate different quantities and combinations of items to maximize the orders that we can fulfill with the purchased inventory.
- Obtain, manipulate, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources (Snowflake, S3)
- Work with data using R, Python, Julia, or Gurobi
- Deploy models and solutions using Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Apache Airflow
- Build & validate advanced analytical and statistical models, using forecasting, optimization, and simulation e.g. linear programming, integer programming etc.
- Leverage analytics tools to identify problems and implement solutions
- Quantify business impacts and communicate actionable recommendations with business partners to drive informed decisions
- Graduate degree (MS or equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or a related quantitative field preferred
- Be data driven and have 2-3 years experience with analytics tools (e.g. R, Python, SQL) and data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
- Fluency in speaking Japanese required
- Supply chain, forecasting and optimization knowledge preferred
- Experience articulating ambiguous business questions and using quantitative modeling techniques to arrive at a solution
- Experience processing, filtering, validating, and presenting large quantities of data (Millions to Billions of rows)
