For over 200 years, we've invented and designed the solutions and technologies that substantially and sustainably improve everyone's daily life.Fives Landis Corp is the High Precision Machines Division of Fives specializes in the design and supply of various types of machines for numerous markets such as Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Rail, Shipbuilding, Energy, Space, etc.The division has approximately 1,800 employees worldwide working in about 20 locations in Asia, Europe, and North America.It is with you that industry can do it!We are currently seeking a Technical Buyer who has the same desire to prove that industry can do it!Salary Range: 70K - 85K (salary offer commensurate with experience)At Fives we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose. Your role will be:
  • Sourcing of machined parts, fabricated parts, other made-to-specification components or functional systems through competitive benchmarking to select the best supplier.
  • Works with suppliers and their sub suppliers to execute multistep processes from raw material, value add operations, and post processing verification.
  • Synergizes with Engineering to recommend product and supplier alternatives that enhance availability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency during the design and procurement stages, while providing support throughout the assembly build cycle.
  • Leads and contributes to strategic sourcing initiatives by developing and managing commodity strategies that drive improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated expertise in technical procurement, including a strong knowledge of raw materials, specifications, and manufacturing processes. An ability to read technical drawings, interpret requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Have familiarity and understand product BOM structures and functionality. Also have a background in mechanical engineering, machining, assembly, manufacturing, or quality inspection (a plus).
