- Design, implement, and maintain network automation solutions using modern scripting languages and tools.
- Develop playbooks, templates, and scripts to automate configuration, deployment, and monitoring of network devices and services.
- Collaborate with the network operations and security teams to identify areas for automation and efficiency improvements.
- Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines and network monitoring systems.
- Maintain version control of scripts and configurations using Git or similar tools.
- Troubleshoot network issues and automation failures with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term resolution.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices for network security and reliability.
- Document workflows, processes, and code to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Research and evaluate new automation technologies and tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of experience in network engineering with at least 2–3 years in a network automation role.
- Strong scripting and programming skills in languages such as Python, YAML, …etc.
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.
- Familiarity with APIs (REST, NETCONF, gNMI) and their use in network automation.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ACLs, SNMP, VPN, SDN).
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, or other enterprise-class networking gear.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of virtualization and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their networking components.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team setting.
- Experience with network modeling tools or digital twins such as CISCO's CML.
- Experience with Network Orchestration Tools such as Itential, Ansible …etc
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Network certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, DevNet, or similar).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
- Experience with web frameworks such as Django or Flask for building network management interfaces and dashboards.
