Job Summary:Mental Health Services Assistant provides support, both administrative and practical to the Mental Health Services Department.Reports To: PROGRAM DIRECTOR, MENTAL HEALTHLocation: 7 West Burnside Avenue, Bronx, NY 10453Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt (Position requires to staff to be onsite. Hybrid is based on program needs and at leadership discretion)Salary Range: $43,042.00$47,825.00Major Duties
  • Collect all documents and medical records needed for initial and annual Rate Packets
  • Submit Rate Packets to ensure participants in care are receiving their correct rate
  • Aid in the gathering of health-related data for records.
  • Act as liaison between outside providers and Good Shepherd Services Mental Health Services Department
  • Ensure annual psychiatric evaluations are requested and completed before the due date -
  • Ensure forms and documentation are maintained in an integrated system.
  • Ensure psychological evaluations are completed every 3 years
  • Partner with the internal case planning and care coordination team to obtain referrals, documentation and critical information.
  • Perform clerical duties for the department including but not limited to: filing, maintaining medical records, computer operation, telephone coverage and photocopying.
  • Assist in gathering data and compiling statistical information for the Mental Health Services Program Director. -
  • Support the use of a trauma informed lens to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of office assistant experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in verbal, written, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, email, and scheduling software.
  • Must be able to accompany participants to various appointments, using New York City public transportation for travel.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development and trauma informed perspective.
