Job Description:Job Function:01. Related to the performance of radiologic procedures, meets all the department standards of a radiologic technologist. (Professionalism)02. Supervises radiographers, students and ancillary staff assigned to the area in keeping with the departments standards related to protocols, procedures and quality. Provide instruction in radiographic procedures and techniques for residents, technologist and radiographic students in such a manner as to maintain the confidence and privacy or our patients. (Dignity)03. Maintains all equipment and accessories. The lead technologist can instruct/demonstrate the correct process necessary to operate all equipment within the department to technologists, residents and students. Is competent in the use of all digital equipment. Notifies proper supervisors and/or clinical engineering of equipment malfunction. Age (Professionalism)04. Monitors the need for revisions of exam and safety procedures to meet the highest industry standards. Ensures adequate supplies are available to accomplish current and future workload. (Excellence)05. Communicates effectively with all department staff, medical staff and other departments in a manner that promotes teamwork. Ensures timely coordination of all emergency and unscheduled procedure requests. (Respect)06. Fluoroscopy: Demonstrates competence in set-up and protocol for all procedures. Maintains daily log by recording pertinent information regarding all exams performed in area. Maintains videotape file to assure ready access for physician viewing. Monitors use of video equipment and maintain tape log.07. RIS/IC and PACS competent. Can perform patients and unspecified cases merging in PACS. Is capable of resolving exceptions in RIS/IC. Has the ability to instruct technologists in proper RIS/PACS processes including the appropriate steps to complete and verify an exam. (Professionalism)08. Exhibits responsible attitude with regard to attendance and tardiness. Always provides notification and advanced notice for absence or tardiness. Always demonstrates reliability and makes every attempt to consistently report to work on time at the start of the assigned shift, even in inclement weather. Never abuses or takes advantage of sick time or personal days. Sick leave usage is not more than 4-5 episodes per year such that attendance is 98 percent. Takes corrective action to prevent recurring absences. (Involvement)9. Preceptor Assessing learning needs. Follow appropriate orientation plans-use structured, detailed, and definitive measuring system for essential orientation competency components by implementing that action plans. Provide effective feedback. Objective in capturing the performance of their orientees. Well versed in modality specific technical skills. Critical thinking and interpersonal skills in a clinical setting. Provides information on a weekly basis of progress to the new graduate and manager/coordinator throughout the orientation period. Meet daily and one follow-up session at the end of the week to document progress using evaluation sheet. Participates in clinical evaluation. (Excellence)10. Works extensively with organizational systems related to ordering of supplies, electronic staff scheduling, HR related training, employee safe practices, safe patient handling, Joint Commission readiness and other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Required:
1. Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology.
2. CPR certification and ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (R), (VI) or (CV) certification required within 3 months of hire.
3. Work Experience Minimum Two (2) years clinical experience.Preferred :
1. Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
2. Three (3) years of clinical experience.
3.
