- Compliance Management
- Serve as the company's compliance lead, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manage the company's compliance programs, including I-9 verification, EEO-1 reporting, and OSHA compliance.
- Oversee internal audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor and interpret changes in labor laws, updating policies and procedures accordingly.
- Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to center directors and corporate managers by providing guidance on employee relations, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct investigations and support resolution of employee concerns in a fair, compliant, and consistent manner.
- Leave of Absence & Benefits Guidance
- Provide support for employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable leaves.
- Help develop and implement a standardized LOA process, working closely with payroll and benefits administration.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Leads and develops two direct reports-a Sr. HR Generalist and a Recruiting and Onboarding Manager-and collaborates closely with additional team members across HR and operations.
- Work cross-functionally with payroll, licensing, training, and operations to support employee needs and organizational goals.
- Training and Development
- Lead compliance-related training initiatives, including anti-discrimination, workplace safety, and ethics.
- Partner with the HR team to develop training programs that foster a culture of accountability and compliance.
- Policy and Reporting
- Support the Vice President of HR in the creation, revision, and communication of HR policies and handbooks.
- Prepare compliance reports and audits for senior management, providing actionable insights.
- Data & Metrics
- Track HR KPIs, identify trends, and provide data-driven insights to senior management.
- Use HR metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Leadership and Special Projects
- Act as a subject matter expert on HR practices and compliance, advising managers and peers.
- Take on special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the VP of HR.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of employment law and experience managing audits/investigations
- Technological proficiency and familiarity with HRIS and timekeeping systems
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification
- Experience in childcare, education, or highly regulated industries
- Demonstrated success in a high-growth, multi-site organization
