- This role requires a mix of business acumen, fact-based decision making, project management expertise, and collaborative stakeholder management
- Directs multiple project/program managers who are leading cross-functional project teams executing programs involving new-to-the world technology from the idea and concept stage to product design, testing and commercialization
- Forms strong partnerships with key cross functional teams including quality, regulatory, operations, process development, and marketing
- Develops and implements business plans, including budget, schedule, and risk, for both new product development and sustainment
- Responsible for communications up, down and across the division
- Fosters team ownership and commitment to project and business plans
- Provides structured thinking to project team on overall approach and delegates as appropriate to develop staff
- Provides input to functional directors on team dynamic and team member performance
- Drives a high-performance culture by fostering teamwork, transparency, and open communication
- Leads the team in appropriate decision making through strong judgment and the ability to analyze options, implications, and trade-offs
- Collaborates with commercial and franchise stakeholders on product requirement tradeoffs and understands associated business implications
- Responsible for hiring and retaining talent

- Bachelor of Science Degree; Master of Science Degree or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in R&D and/or Project Management
- 5+ years of experience in a people leadership position
- PMP or PgMP Certification preferred
- Medical device project management experience
- Experience with all phases of product development inclusive of TDP, PDP, and launch support
- Experience with Portfolio Management
- Proven track record of motivating teams and functions to deliver challenging goals
- Strong business acumen and strategic thought leadership
- Proven attributes and skills in the areas of leadership, people development, product development, collaboration, communication and strategic influence
