- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and moving vans.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty vehicles.
- Ensure Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance for all fleet equipment.
- Maintain service records and vehicle inspection logs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections as needed.
- Manage emergency repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support fleet readiness for peak relocation seasons.
- Troubleshoot engine problems, emissions systems, and after-treatment devices.
- Install and repair liftgates, air brake systems, and other vehicle-specific equipment.
- Coordinate with dispatch and operations teams for vehicle availability.
- Recommend parts and equipment replacements to reduce downtime.
- Adhere to company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, ideally in the moving or transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Experience working with moving trucks (box trucks, Class A/B vehicles).
- Ability to work independently and prioritize urgent repairs.
- CDL (preferred but not required).
