Capitol Aggregates is seeking an Environmental Intern to support compliance and sustainability initiatives across our Cement and Aggregates facilities. In this hands-on role, you will assist our Environmental Specialist and Environmental Director with monitoring, recordkeeping, and compliance tasks that directly support plant operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing an environmental or engineering degree to gain practical experience in heavy industry environmental compliance.What You’ll DoConduct field survey work to capture environmental data and transfer results into tracking systems.Assist with documentation, data entry, and the creation of environmental records, maps, and drawings.Support projects focused on improving compliance and reducing pollutants at company sites.Participate in fieldwork at active plant locations as needed.Help prepare reports and maintain accurate records for environmental compliance.Maintain work areas in a safe and clean condition at all times.Follow and support all company and plant safety policies, including MSHA regulations.What You’ll BringProficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with environmental and plant teams.Education & ExperienceCurrently enrolled in a degree program in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.Prior experience with data or spreadsheets preferred but not required.Smoke school certification is a plus.Why You’ll Love This Internship✔ Gain exposure to environmental compliance in both field and office settings.
