- Lead Structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team
- Responsible for the production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports. Ensure that calculations and deliverables are technically sound and in accordance with project requirements
- Apply civil and structural engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
- Produce Procurement Specifications and Construction Specifications (Civil and/or Structural sections)
- Monitor the work of assigned staff on technical matters pertinent to project assignments; maintain assigned tasks within schedule and budget to fit the needs of the projects
- Use effective written and oral communication skills to convey information to project team members and managers
- Present written technical information in a clear and concise manner in all deliverables
- Prepare reports and deliverables that are clearly understood and meet client requirements; communicate clearly in meetings with client and summarizes meeting notes in a clear and timely manner
- Provide technical guidance to project team members
- Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs
- Mentor junior engineers
- Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
- BSCE or BSSE degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; MS degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil and structural engineering
- Experience with producing engineering designs for foundations, structures, and support structures
- Experience with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC
- Proficiency in finite element analysis software such as ANSYS or SAP2000 or equivalent
- P.E. license
- Multiple years of experience in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial or Navy), highly desirable
- Structural Engineering (SE) Licensure
- Field Engineering and Construction Experience
