+ put the student firstJob Description:School Summary:Premier High School supports credit recovery and early graduation for students who thrive in smaller, independent learning environments that differ from the traditional school model by prioritizing technology and one-on-one teacher/student interaction to provide personalized instruction and build strong relationships, helping them succeed academically and graduate on time or early. Simultaneously, Texas Works empowers adults to earn their high school diploma through personalized support and flexible learning options. In this dual role, teachers deliver personalized instruction, utilize technology, and foster strong relationships with both Premier High School and Texas Works students to support their academic success and the attainment of their educational goals.We seek educators with experience working with high school students or adult learners. A successful candidate is dedicated to a culture that values making connections and is committed to serving as a positive role model. - Master the Premier High School Curriculum System and adapt instruction to meet the needs of adult learners in Texas Works.
- Manage the classroom by setting clear expectations, establishing routines, and promoting self-discipline, while demonstrating empathy.
- Inspire, praise, and correct students with consistency, care, and interest.
- Learn and implement teaching curriculum programs.
- Evaluate student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Engage in collaboration with colleagues at the local and district levels for the benefit of students and learning
- Administer tests,monitor student performance, and provide intervention/enrichment.
- Tutor students individually or in groups.
- Perform assigned duties and special projects.
- Practice professionalism through ongoing development and reflection.
- Adhere to all relevant handbooks and procedures.
- Texas State Teacher's Certification in the subject to be taught.
- Bachelor's degree with a passing score on an ExCET/TEXES Exam in the grade level or content area to be taught.
- Bachelor's degree with an academic minor or major (minimum of 18 credit hours) in the core academic subject areas to be taught.
- Bachelor's degree and documented successful, relevant work experience in the content area to be taught, established by at least one year of employment in a specific field or occupation that required the educator to demonstrate knowledge or skill in the content area. This is to be supported by a professional letter of recommendation from the educator's employer or supervisor
