- Responsible for assisting with training and coaching of both paid and volunteer patrollers
- Responsible for being the primary resource in the execution all ski patrol functions
- Assist with training of ski patrol personnel as well as other involved departments
- Responsible for special team training involving conflict resolution
- Responsible for organizing operating procedures at duty stations and scheduling/organizing agenda for team meetings
- Maintain a working relationship with Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation managers and other Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation departments as well as public organizations
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- Responsible for keeping records and inventories up to date; review reports and records
- Evaluation of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation Patrollers
- Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience with Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation Ski Patrol with consistently above average Performance Reviews or commensurate experience in a related field
- Must be currently certified and able to present valid up to date CPR and OEC/EMT credentials
- Must be able and willing to lead any area of Ski Patrol Operations including Courtesy Patrol
- Must be able to handle stressful situations and excel in all areas of Service Excellence making us the friendliest ski resort in the world
- Must show evidence of good organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, leadership and team building skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and must meet companies' insurability standards
- Ability to understand and adhere to all safety policies.
- Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards
- Must be able to occasionally work on short notice during some weeks, weekends, and nights
- This is a non-union management position
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Must be able to clearly speak and understand the English language
- Must be able to hear clearly with or without a hearing device
- This position requires physical strength to help evacuate a lift, lift patients, ski any terrain, mitigate avalanche hazards, perform first aid on sick and injured guests, etc.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to operate a snowmobile in a safe manner
- Must be an expert level skier
