(U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)TRAVEL: 30%Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer for the RTC Test and Engineering Services (RTES) Contract supporting the Army Division.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline related to Computer Sciences/Engineering with a focus in multi-spectral sensor analysis.
- Candidate must be willing to work outdoors up to 70% of the time regardless of weather conditions, to include hot/humid conditions, cold conditions, heights, and around ammunition and explosives.
- Candidate must have experience with machine learning techniques as it applies to sensor-driven detection algorithms.
- Candidate must have experience with operating optical and electronics measurement equipment.
- Candidate must be able to come to work early, stay late, and work in shifts as testing schedule dictates. Candidate must be willing to work paid overtime hours and travel at least 30% of the year.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government security clearance (Must be a U.S. Citizen).
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Software development skills to include GUI design and writing user interfaces for instrumentation controls.
- Experience in PCB design.
- Experience with implementing live virtual constructive elements into realistic operational environments.
- Support the MSS Sensor Performance Team in developmental test of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensor systems and operational assessments of sensor-driven networked systems.
- Open-air range and laboratory operation of optical instrumentation, to include radiometers, scientific thermal cameras, atmospheric transmission equipment, blackbody/visible light sources, and spectral reflectance instruments.
- Drive the development of novel sensor test capabilities and facilitate the development of software tools to test sensor-based technologies.
