Using unique expertise in the fields of materials science, surface science, optics, biochemistry and biology, the segment provides innovative solutions that improve productivity and enable breakthrough discoveries.Scope of PositionTo provide technical engineering support to the molding and assembly areas working across functional boundaries to assist in configuring, implementing, and optimizing production processes within the plant with a weighted focus on the plastic forming processes.Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance on existing plastics processing equipment.
- Assist in the design, testing and upgrades of production systems and processes.
- Provide feedback and support to implement best practices as a means of improving production output
- Identify process improvement opportunities through use of statistical methods of process analysis.
- Prepare and train others on operating instructions and process documentation.
- Contribute to quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the organization.
- Support validations surrounding new product, process, equipment, software, and tooling
- Support environmental impact reduction project work
- Support the plant cost reduction portfolio
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS degree in Plastics Engineering
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to develop project and production related documents
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Written & oral communication skills
- GD&T Understanding
- MiniTab, Jump, or other analysis software.
- CAD proficiency (Solidworks preferred)
- Understanding of measurement systems and methods
