This is a supervisory position that supports the Public Services division in the Public Works Department. (Click for the full classsification specification)Plan, supervise, and participate in daily activities of storm water maintenance operators.Supervise the installation, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of a variety of storm water system facilities.Inspect storm water system to identify abnormal conditions and resolve complex operation issues.Maintain and troubleshoot storm water pumps and pump station facilities.Supervise general construction projects including performing cement work.Oversee field investigations as to the size and location of storm drains and irrigation culverts.Train, supervise, plan, and coordinate work of assigned storm water employees according to work orders and other priorities.Recommend and implement improvement changes to work processes.Maintain and review a variety of work records, reports, documentation, and work specifications.Perform other related duties as required.What are the minimum qualifications?Provo City will accept additional education as a substitution for experience [1 year of school equals 6 months of experience].High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).6 years of professional water/wastewater operator experience.Valid, lawful commercial driver license.UT Water Distribution Grade II.UT Water Distribution Grade IV Operator is preferred.What is the selection process?Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on September 15, 2025. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
