3rd Shift Controls Engineer - $110K+ | Growth Opportunity
Location: St. Louis/Wentzville area
Compensation: $110,000+ annually, plus overtime after 45 hrs
3rd Shift | High visibility role with growth opportunity
Schedule: 10:30PM - 6:30AM | 9-hr days | 6 days/week avg. | OT after 45 hrsWe're seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to join a high-output manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, keeping production systems running, and driving continuous improvement.
  • What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot factory-based electrical control systems & machinery
  • Install, program, and support PLC systems (AB, GE, Siemens)
Test & maintain electronic equipment in manufacturing and power transmission systems * Troubleshoot network communication, conveyors, motors, drives, pumps, etc.
  • Develop & modify operator interfaces (HMI/SCADA platforms)
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA-70E, LOTO, and safety program
  • Guide and support maintenance technicians as needed
  • Lead automation & safety system projects (robotics, pneumatics, VFDs, relays, networks, and control panels)
  • What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering OR 3-5+ years industry experience
  • Strong PLC programming (Allen-Bradley: PLC5, SLC, ControlLogix 5000-5580)
HMI/SCADA design experience (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, WonderWare, LabVIEW) * Familiar with Ethernet/IP, power distribution equipment, and robot programming
  • Proven ability to lead projects, troubleshoot critical issues, and balance multiple priorities
