Job Category: Product DevelopmentJob Description:As a Senior Manager in OCI, you will provide leadership to a dedicated team tasked with overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of projects within OCI for the service you own.   • A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in people management, with a proven track record in managing large-scale critical service.
  • Demonstrated expertise in distributed systems, messaging domains (Kafka, RabbitMQ), Kubernetes eco system
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recruit very strong engineering talent
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, dealing with competing priorities and able to manage multiple projects
  • Sustainably scale systems through tooling and automation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences including senior leadership
  • Results and driven; thrives in a development environment that is agile, collaborative, and in start-up mode, even when faced with ambiguity and competing priorities
Responsibilities:As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
  • Own a high scale, massively distributed cloud scale service handling billons of transactions
  • Provide leadership, direction and strategy for a team of senior engineers
  • Manage and deliver on a large portfolio of key OCI initiatives
  • Develop a prioritized roadmap of products, features and engineering asks
  • Drive the delivery of roadmap commitments on time with high quality
  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders (other OCI teams, Oracle Corp teams, product management) to ensure cross-organizational dependencies are managed effectively
  • Provide regular updates to executive management
  • Monitor the health of the services in the OCI fleet and drive solutions to problems before they impact Cloud capacity and availability

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.
