We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Analyst to join our Finance team in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry. Reporting into our Sr Director of Finance & Accounting, this role will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making across sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations. The Finance Analyst will play a key and highly impactful role in monitoring profitability, evaluating trade spend, and driving insights that improve business performance.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling financial models.
- Conduct variance analysis between actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
- Partner with commercial teams to analyze promotional effectiveness and return on trade investments.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to provide financial insights on pricing, promotions, and new product launches.
- Support decision-making with scenario modeling, margin analysis, and investment cases.
- Prepare monthly management reports and key performance indicators (KPIs), with a focus on gross margin, trade spend, and operating expenses.
- Analyze customer and product profitability, highlighting opportunities for margin improvement.
- Ensure financial data accuracy within ERP and reporting tools.
- Leverage financial systems and BI dashboards to automate reporting and provide real-time insights.
- Identify process improvements in financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Support internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Support Finance initiatives to ensure timeframes and objectives are achieved.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred but not required
- 2–5+ years of experience in financial analysis in CPG is required; Additional industry experience from retail or manufacturing are beneficial
- High understanding of trade spend, cost of goods sold (COGS), and supply chain dynamics.
- Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Proven Experience with Oracle NetSuite and Power BI OR Tableau
- Superb analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Business acumen with a focus on CPG-specific drivers (pricing, promotions, trade spend, and customer profitability).
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
