- SUMMARY: The Accounting Technician is responsible for performing accounting and financial functions relative to the efficient operation of the finance department in a person-centered environment. The Accounting Technician can step in and cover basic duties that are done by the Chief Financial Officer in their absence. The Accounting Technician will assist with overall financial operations of the agency, including entering accounts payables, accounts receivables, cash receipts, etc.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES and MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Perform assigned accounting operations within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Complete invoicing, accounts receivable/payable for agency-related entities.
- Learn various duties and responsibilities and provide backup to Resource Specialist and Bookkeeping positions.
- Preparation of accounting journal entries.
- Pass the Medication Administration test with no more than two attempts and administer medication to clients according to physician orders and using appropriate administration techniques as outlined in the Medication Administration course, if needed.
- Must be able to perform Lifting and Transferring techniques as trained and pass performance testing. The employee may occasionally lift and/or push and pull up to 50 lbs. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement.
- Driving of agency vehicles as necessary for transportation of clients and agency business as assigned.

- Able to regularly sit, walk, stand, climb up and down stairs, physically restrain clients pursuant to training (when necessary) and sit at a computer for long periods of time and repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times (typing, data entry).
- Communicate through speech with individuals in service and public in both quiet and noisy environments.
- Operate a personal computer and related software.
- Tolerate various levels of stress and meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
- Demonstrate specific vision abilities which include close, distance, and depth perception and are able to read handwritten or typed material, and able to adjust focus.
- Work and concentrate in both noisy and quiet environments.
- Squat, stoop, kneel, and reach above the head. Forward motion will occasionally be required.
- Work inside the building a majority of the time.
- Essential Duties include the Physical Demands listed below.
- Prepare monthly allocations and accruals for financial statements, as needed.
- Serve as backup for the Bookkeeper when that staff member is absent.
- Serve as backup for the Resource Coordinator when that staff member is absent.
- Assist and prepare schedules for annual audits and annual 990 Reports.
- Track and maintain all revenue and expenses for agency fundraisers, building rental, catering operations, etc.
- Serve as a resource for Bookkeeper and Resource Specialist.
- Work closely with the CFO to complete assigned duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Plan and participate in agency functions and events.
- Work flexible schedules or within various environments as agency and supervisor deems necessary. Staff attendance and promptness to assigned shifts is essential. The responsibilities of this position may require staff to be able to work irregular or extended hours, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.
- Represent the agency in the represented communities through positive public relations and active involvement in civic functions.
- Advise supervisor of concerns and problems that arise within the agency.
- Follow agency procedures when purchasing items on behalf of the agency.
- Follow agency policies and procedures in carrying out duties.
- Safeguard all agency funds and property.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO, CFO, or designee.
