HawkEye 360 is currently seeking a Mission Coordinator to join the Space Team. The mission of the Space Team is to build, test, launch, operate, and maintain HawkEye 360’s constellation of small commercial satellites. This group is also responsible for developing and operating a segment of ground stations to provide communications with these satellites. Satellite clusters and ground segments provide the platform for RF data collection that is essential to HawkEye’s core business.HawkEye 360 is looking for a Mission Coordinator candidate with good technical leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills, who is creative and has a passion for working with new, innovative technology. This position requires a combination of technical expertise and business acumen, and you will have diverse responsibilities throughout the mission lifecycle.Location: This position is available for remote employees working in the United States. If remote, travel to HawkEye 360’s offices in Herndon, VA one week per quarter is expected. As the Mission Coordinator, your main responsibilities will be:
  • Support launch strategy management, track emerging launch provider market to balance launch costs with technical requirements and risk.
  • Coordinate with component & spacecraft manufacturers, launch provider, and Hawkeye360 Space Team to ensure launch schedules set by company leadership are met.
  • Provide technical support for regulatory filings to ensure FCC and FAA licenses are in place.
  • Support import/export, purchasing, and other coordination needs for Space Team.
  • Establish connections with suppliers and contractors who can meet our technical requirements; ensure our current suppliers meet contractual and schedule requirements.
  • Support projects with external vendors, operating as a program management focal point for the Space Team.
  • Perform constellation cost, schedule, and performance analysis for business and strategic planning scenarios.
  • Generate reports about planned constellation development and commissioning status for VP, Engineering, and other senior executives.
  • Support ground station capacity planning to ensure our ground segment continues to meet the needs of our constellation as it continues to expand.
  • Travel occasionally to launch sites (sometimes internationally) to support launch integration.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (Aerospace or Mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience coordinating space launch missions and all licensing requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • A passion for completing a job well - Attention to detail
  • A good attitude and team-oriented spirit
Desirable:
  • Experience with space hardware engineering and development.
  • A curious outlook – willingness to learn new things and find the right solutions to fit the problem.
Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $135,000 annuallyHawkEye 360 offers a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations.
