  • Maintain an ongoing review of the physical security of the assigned school location.
  • Assist building administrators with the continuous monitoring of the school campus.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during transitions in the hallways.
  • Alert building administrators of any safety and security concerns throughout the school day.
  • Conduct school facility security vulnerability assessments and make suggestions to school administrators.
  • Maintain continuous indoor and outdoor monitoring of the school property.
  • Monitor to ensure the exterior school doors are secure during the school day.
  • Monitor hallways to meet the expectations of building administrators.
  • Appropriately monitor restrooms throughout the school day according to set guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in training workshops by the District Safety and Security Director.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all school information concerning students, staff, and school business.
  • Attend faculty meetings and other meetings as required by school administrator.
  • Demonstrate positive working relationships with the students, building administration team, building staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Assist with the management of car and bus traffic.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
  • Ability to work late nights and some weekends.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  • Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
  • Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
