Its design incorporates extensive research into best practices in building and workplace design through extensive benchmarking of the world’s top academic, research, and corporate facilities.Learn more about what we do in Houston .What role you will play in our teamThis position is a Terminal Operator at ExxonMobil's South Houston Fuels Terminal in Houston, TX. The Terminal Operator is responsible for day-to-day operations within the terminal. The Terminal Operator will have on call emergency responsibilities with the possibility of overtime and weekend/after-hours call outs. Terminal Operators may be required to provide relief to other technicians in their work area. Shifts may vary and are often ten or twelve hours in duration. Terminal Operators must be willing to work in the proximity of various hydrocarbon products, electrical circuits, and machinery. This position participates in alcohol and drug testing programs (e.g. DOT and/or Company). This position does not include relocation benefits or travel expense reimbursement associated with the pre-employment process. This position requires pre-employment testing.What you will do
  • Maintain an incident free workplace by adhering to various Company safety programs
  • Perform facility maintenance, including cleaning facilities, grounds upkeep, painting, etc.
  • Read and understand station flow and pipeline alignment drawings
  • Responsible for the accurate measurement and sampling of crude oils, products, and natural gas liquids
  • Utilize computer software to perform various data input, product tracking, reporting, and company communication
  • Perform to highest safety standards, including reporting all incidents and discrepancies
  • Daily duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Daily inspections and facility maintenance
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Working with forklift, ladder, lift, etc.
  • Loading/off-loading rack surveillance (e.g. driver certification, driver observations, alarm management, etc.)
  • Product inventory
  • Product quality assurance (e.g. tank certification, product sampling, etc.)
  • General filing and data entry
  • Assist in the construction, maintenance, operations, and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities and equipment
  • Move/Remove product or water using a variety of methods
  • Perform batch changing, meter proving, and calibrations
  • Perform various mathematical calculations associated with over/short reconciliation
  • Read and understand station flow and pipeline alignment drawings
  • Responsible for the accurate measurement and sampling of crude oils, products, and natural gas liquids
  • Set up equipment and pipeline for inspection, testing, and measurement
  • Perform to highest safety standards, including reporting all incidents and discrepancies
About youSkills and Qualifications
  • Able to ascend to the top of tanks to perform gauging or other work
  • Ability to plan daily work activities in accordance with established Company and Regulatory procedures
  • Ability to communicate (written and spoken) effectively
  • Ability to operate hand tools or other equipment to accomplish work tasks
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent safe work ethic
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures
  • Must be willing and able to attend and complete required training courses
  • Must be willing and able to work in small team environments
  • Must be willing and able to work in various locations, indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
  • Must have safe driving skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations and call outs within 1 hours of notification
