  • Lead the development of written Health and Safety Programs for deployment across the organization.
  • Develop tactical tools and associated training for implementation of written Health and Safety programs.
  • Review site loss and risk data to proactively identify opportunities of need within the organization and develop strategies to implement against these.
  • Complete hands-on support across all sites
  • Collaborate with OPEX team to develop an overall strategy and tools for implementation of a company-wide Process Safety Management program.
  • Provide on-site leadership and support to enable local PSM process implementation.
Incident Management
  • Lead and support site teams in the completion of root-cause investigations following EHS incidents.
  • Work with site teams to ensure incident data is accurately and thoroughly managed with the EHS Management software.
  • Develop and publish monthly EHS scorecard inclusive of leading and lagging EHS metrics
  • Review incident data to identify trends and provide tools/resources to support mitigation.
Industrial Hygiene
  • Leads the company-wide industrial hygiene program.
  • Provide technical industrial hygiene leadership to support implement of controls for identified occupational health risks.
  • Manages the relationship with third-party industrial hygiene resources.
  • Provides technical review and oversight of third-party generated industrial hygiene reports.
  • Facilitate communication around identified /validated of industrial hygiene best practices.
EHS Training
  • Develop annual EHS training plan to ensure company-wide compliance.
  • Lead the development of training tools and resources to assist site teams in management of safety and environmental risks.
  • Work with Human Resources and Operations to re-define new-hire safety on-boarding process.
  • Deliver EHS training to site employees, EHS professionals, and leadership.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering or related field.
  • Advanced degree and relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial safety or EHS experience
  • Experience in development and implementation of safety standards
  • Understanding of industrial hygiene, associated PELS/TLVs, and experience in control implementation
  • Operating knowledge of the Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations and experience implementing.
  • Subject matter expertise in safety and health regulations
  • Effective communication skill
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
  • A passion for safety and the prevention of incidents
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to read and interpret rules and regulations.
  • Must be physically capable of standing, walking and climbing stairs up to 8-10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to work in a hot, dusty, humid and noisy mill environment around high-speed equipment.
  • Must be able to adjust work hours to support the safety and environmental needs of a 24/7 facility.
  • Travel required. (25% - 50%)

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors.
