- Provide senior level Information Technology (IT) hardware engineering analysis and support, focusing on the desktop computing architecture for user devices, system configuration, testing, and integration. Key responsibilities include:
- IT Hardware Engineering Support: Includes both preventative and maintenance, deploying and installing hardware, and analyzing ticketing trends to propose solutions.
- Collaboration and Planning: Involves working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Value-Added Resellers (VARs), preparing hardware specifications based on system requirements, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Technical Documentation and Testing: Preparing engineering plans, technical design packages, functional and performance test plans, site installation, and test reports based on document requirements.
- Configuration and Problem Solving: Developing standardized configurations and field troubleshooting methods for end user computing devices and peripheral equipment.
- Management and Leadership: Assisting in the preparation of status reports, organizing desktop engineering efforts, providing leadership to junior engineers and systems administrators, and occasionally acting as the End User Services Manager.
- Innovation and Service Improvement: Developing technology insertion plans to introduce new technologies and coordinating service improvement activities across people, processes, and technologies.
- This role requires a proactive approach to hardware maintenance, a strategic mindset for planning and implementation, and a leadership role in mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an IT engineer, specializing in the analysis of hardware systems for IT solutions.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. However, relevant experience may be substituted for the degree. Specifically, five (5) additional years of hardware engineering and testing experience can replace the need for a Bachelor’s degree.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential, as the role involves coordinating with team members from project management, security, asset management, customer service, or help desk departments to solve problems and manage projects.
- User Endpoint support and troubleshooting.
- Requirements analysis and Solution Design.
- Test plan development and execution.
- Creating and maintain documentation for both end users and system administrators.
