We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead their 1st shift production team. This role is critical for driving safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement on the shop floor. - Champion all safety protocols, conduct regular toolbox talks, and work to eliminate workplace hazards.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to maximize operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead, coach, and mentor production team members, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Manage employee training progress and support cross-training initiatives to build a versatile workforce.
- Ensure facility and equipment are maintained to high standards, coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Communicate effectively across all levels, from pre-shift forecasts for the team to performance summaries for leadership.
- Enforce company policies and maintain accurate records on performance, production, and machinery.
Education:
- A degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but significant relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role within a sheet metal fabrication or machining manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with production scheduling, performance management, and root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with ERP systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- A driven, personable, and team-oriented individual comfortable with administering policies and providing direct feedback.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data to improve performance.
