Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for an Operations Manager - 1st ShiftOverview:
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead their 1st shift production team. This role is critical for driving safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement on the shop floor. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who excels in coaching, problem-solving, and fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.   • Champion all safety protocols, conduct regular toolbox talks, and work to eliminate workplace hazards.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to maximize operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor production team members, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Manage employee training progress and support cross-training initiatives to build a versatile workforce.
  • Ensure facility and equipment are maintained to high standards, coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels, from pre-shift forecasts for the team to performance summaries for leadership.
  • Enforce company policies and maintain accurate records on performance, production, and machinery.
Requirements:
Education:
  • A degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but significant relevant experience will be considered.
Experiences:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role within a sheet metal fabrication or machining manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with production scheduling, performance management, and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with ERP systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
Other:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • A driven, personable, and team-oriented individual comfortable with administering policies and providing direct feedback.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data to improve performance.
