- Distribute & Assign work to operators under the cell Lead's responsibility.
- Collaborate with second shift and supervisor to ensure all orders are being prioritizes, picked, and filled on time.
- Supports the Production Coordinator with the management of work orders through the entire process focusing on the due dates.
- Follows up on the NCMR's and supports all quality initiatives on the floor, ensuring adherence to all quality policies from operators.
- Documentation of production numbers and ensure that each instrument maker fills out their labor tracking sheets.
- Ensures Tier 1 meetings are held on time at the specified frequency, ensuring participation from the entire group.
- Ensures that 5S is active and all requirements are met by assigned cells/departments.
- In the absence of the supervisor, keeps production on track.
- Provide training and follow-up with Instrument Makers to ensure GDP requirements are met.
- Identify procedural problems and work with appropriate parties for correction.
- Identify process improvements which may improve product production, quality and costs.
- Will operate within plant/shop safety rules and maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Maintains quality and productivity levels during the manufacturing process.
- Operates and adheres to general plant rules and policies governing workplace conduct, performance, EH&S policies, and good documentation practices.
- Maintains good housekeeping practices in the work area and the plane in general.
- Works cohesively with others in the team environment.
- Occasional movement of product weighing up to 50 pounds from one workstation to another.
- Visual attention to detail; able to detect subtle visual product non-conformities.
- Capable of reading and interpreting part prints, pre-process control sheets/project routers, and understand basic procedures.
- Ability to perform computer transactions and prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, standards.
- Ability to write and communicate with other team members.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify part numbers.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred - minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Preferred - minimum 3 years of experience directly leading or supervising hourly associates.
- Preferred - experience with planning, scheduling, and work order management.
- Preferred - experience with MRP or ERP software (SAP, JD Edwards, other.)
