- Maintains repair and maintenance records for all equipment.
- Locks out equipment prior to working on it – utilizes and follows lock out / tag out procedures.
- Records details of repairs made, parts used and dates.
- Disassembles and reassembles equipment for maintenance or repair.
- Cleans, lubricates, and installs parts and / or replacement parts.
- Tests equipment to ensure proper functioning, making any needed adjustments following repairs.
- Examines and listens to equipment, reads inspection reports and communicates with operators to locate and diagnose problems.
- Reads work orders or descriptions of problems to determine repairs or modifications needed.
- Inspects equipment to locate damage, defects or wear and recommends repair to prevent further damage.
- Calculates bills according to record of repairs made, labor time and parts used.
- Assists with repair scheduling; determines work priorities to service FCS locations.
- Assists with setting up a preventative maintenance plan for trucks and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to operate and understand mobile equipment.
- Possess mechanical skills to perform maintenance tasks.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment, attention to unloading / loading and moving equipment.

- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be currently enrolled as a student in a public, private or accredited academic institution majoring in a diesel or heavy equipment program.
