Posting TextBlack Hills State University is seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to join our Student Financial Aid Office as a Financial Aid Advisor. This role is vital to our Enrollment Management team and will be based at our Rapid City Center campus.This position is grant funded for the first four years with the intention to become a university funded position after the four years.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive financial aid counseling to students and their families.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Manage Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) processing, including handling appeals.
  • Oversee the Federal Work-Study program, including awarding and tracking.
  • Utilize the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) as necessary.
  • Participate in local financial aid workshops and FAFSA information nights.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with financial aid processes and regulations is preferred.
  • Earned Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of general office experience with financial aid experience preferred.
