
Construction Monitor

- Works with various city departments to ensure compliance and monitors progress on supplier diversity goals, compliance with equitable procurement standards, and performance on other key metrics.
- Conducts investigations for cases of potential fraud or abuse of the program.
- Attends pre-construction conferences and other meetings as required.
- Provides technical assistance to contractors; traces and ensures verification of documentation submitted by the general contractor, prepares and forwards memo of approval to awarding authorities, and prepares project chronologies for corrective action meetings with contractors.
- Maintains database system of monthly construction activity reports; assists the Policy and Compliance Manager in preparation of various reports.
- Schedules and conducts corrective action meetings with contractors; prepares written reports of corrective action meetings; makes recommendations.
- Communicates with the Supplier Diversity City Certification unit to ensure that all M/WBEs identified are City of Boston certified or in the process of certification.
- Forwards written request to contractors for necessary documentation to close out project files, and any other related duties.
- Performs related work as required.
- At least four (4) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in administration.
- A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required experience.
- Strong oral and written skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to interpret government regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data.
- Knowledge of federal regulations and city guidelines, and of software such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and database program use is preferred.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
