Description :Developmental Disabilities Institute, DDI, is one of the largest providers of care to children and adults with Autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs. DDI has been a part of Long Island for over 50 years serving over 1,500 children and adults with Autism, other developmental disabilities and special needs. DDI provides innovative and expansive services to our population through various educational settings, residential services, day habilitation programs and vocational services.Salary: $87,360.00 - $104,832.00 / yearResponsibilities:
  • Provides oversight and supervision to RN’s and LPN’s.
  • Serves as medical liaison for IDT team, ensuring proper medical follow-up.
  • Participates in IDT conferences, as required.
  • Assesses injuries/accidents to ensure individuals receive proper medical care.
  • Develops written nursing plan for each individual. Modifies nursing plan as necessary.
  • Maintains medical records for each individual.
  • Participates as appropriate in planning and implementation of training of DDI personnel.
  • Accompanies individuals to medical appointments as assigned.
  • Ensure proper medical follow-up through on call system.
  • Ensures all medications are administered and stored as necessary.
  • Attends monthly Nursing Meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with OPWDD regulatory standards.
  • Completes appropriate incident reporting paperwork as required.
  • Liaison with family members regarding medical issues.
  • Preparation of monthly Medication Administration Records.
  • AMAP pourings, and supervision of AMAP’s.
Qualifications:
  • N.Y. State Registered Nurse License required
  • N.Y. State Driver’s License preferred
  • Knowledge of OPWDD Regulations preferred
  • Experience with ID/DD population preferred
