SAFY is seeking a part-time Regional Trainer for SAFY of Ohio working 25 hours or less per week.As a Regional Trainer, you will be responsible for the training and development of foster parents, adoptive parents, and staff in our Cleveland division in state of Ohio.Who We AreAt SAFY, our mission is Preserving Families & Securing Futures.   • Provide ongoing training to staff and foster parents in a classroom setting using different online media, such as videoconferencing and Microsoft Teams. Training should be provided based on training plans created by the division/state and/or as requested to assist with staff or foster parent performance improvement.
  • Provide and oversee de-escalation training for the region. Coordinate providing CEU’s for trainings, as applicable, with the training department.
  • Record each training event using the centralized training database system. Collect all sessions, participants, sign-in sheets, and evaluations. Communicate with the supervisor and divisions/states on the reception and effectiveness of the training.
  • Search, evaluate, and recommend curricula for training and coordinate and develop curricula and materials according to identified training needs.
  • May assist with foster parent Preservice training in the absence of licensing staff Assist with the planning of foster parent conferences and all staff trainings.
  • Travel to other divisions within Ohio as the supervisor requires to assist with training, evaluate other trainers, or as needed by mentors.
  • Attend foster youth activities as schedule permits or required by management.
Compliance/Reporting:
  • In conjunction with the Training Department, use technology to gather input from QI activities, training feedback, performance evaluations, mentor feedback, foster parent training needs tools and evaluations, etc. to assess the training needs of staff and foster parents.
  • Collaborate with division(s) and corporate staff to improve, enhance, and maintain foster parent retention.

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, child & family studies, or other approved related field of human services.
  • Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Social work or counseling license preferred.
  • Three years of experience in the field working with children, adolescents, and families.
  • 3+ years of training and/or group facilitation experience preferred.
What We Offer
  • Targeted hiring range: $19.00 to $25.00/hr.
  • Compensation is commensurate with transferrable experience, education and licensure of candidate, location of the position, along with internal equity and budgeted amount for the role.
