Crisis Response Technician

- Respond in a timely manner to all requests for crisis intervention that are immediate in nature
- Triage phone calls and route appropriately based on needs and preliminary risk assessments
- Provide comprehensive crisis counseling and safety planning for clients in need
- Support and guide Aspire staff and community stakeholders in the process of inpatient psychiatric admission during behavioral health emergencies
- Facilitate inpatient admissions, emergency detention orders, and Apprehend and Return orders
- Coordinate Crisis Response Team interventions
- Maintain excellent working relationships with first responders, dispatchers, and hospitals
- Arrange urgent comprehensive assessments/intakes with Aspire providers or referral partners
- Work with hospital discharge planners to coordinate and schedule post-inpatient treatment
- Coordinate with Aspire staff to perform assessments aimed at anticipating potential crises for those currently in Aspire services
- Provide outreach to current Aspire clients at risk for potential crisis through Caring Contacts and review of their Safety and Prevention plan
- Serve as a resource for Aspire staff, as well as, external stakeholders in the identification and application of criteria for inpatient treatment
- Coordinate referrals to Aspire treatment services as well as to external resources/services
- Monitor psychiatric bed availability in the community
- Participate in 24 hour on-call crisis team, as needed
- High School Diploma required
- At least one (1) year of related experience preferred
- May self-identify as a current or former recipient of services, and/or a family member of an individual who was a recipient of services, and be maintaining a healthy recovery from mental illness and/or substance use to qualify for the peer track
- Knowledge of community resources, referral processes and risk assessments preferred
- Basic knowledge of the Recovery Model highly recommended
- Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license , current auto insurance, and a driving record that meets the requirements of the organization
