- Inform, support, and monitor department related actions of the strategic and annual operating plans.
- Develop and lead integrated fundraising strategies across individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, and special campaigns.
- Contribute to the revenue growth strategies of ACOFP's non-dues offerings by supporting the marketing and sales of educational products, branded content, and digital platforms.
- Manage a personal portfolio of mid-to-major donors; conduct cultivation and solicitation meetings and build long-term donor relationships for the ACOFP Foundations annual, campaign and legacy donation opportunities.
- Implement a robust stewardship plan including acknowledgments, reports, recognition events, and donor communications.
- Track donor activity and engagement through CRM tools (e.g., Nimble/Salesforce); use data insights to inform strategy and measure success.
- In partnership with Communications & Engagement, execute multi-channel campaigns, including year-end appeals, giving days, peer-to-peer efforts, and planned giving initiatives.
- Coordinate board and leadership engagement in fundraising, providing strategic counsel and tailored solicitation support.
- Lead the research, writing, and submission of assigned grants and proposals.
- Maintain a grants calendar and manage application timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Align grant requests with programmatic goals, measurable outcomes, and impact narratives.
- Identify, pitch, and secure corporate sponsorships and advertising opportunities that align with ACOFP's mission and funding priorities.
- Serve as the primary liaison for sponsors, advertisers, partners, Career Center, and affinity program ensuring timely delivery of contracted benefits, impact reports, and relationship-building touchpoints.
- Lead the promotion and sales of exhibit space at ACOFP's Annual Convention, collaborating with meetings staff to manage logistics, contracts, and exhibitor satisfaction.
- Cultivate new industry contacts and expand ACOFP's network of sponsors and exhibitors to support both programmatic and educational goals.
- Track leads, manage prospect pipelines, and report on product and service sales performance.
- Collaborate with communications, membership, and education teams to identify cross-promotional opportunities and align messaging with organizational goals.
- Ensure all sponsorship and exhibit activities comply with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) guidelines and ACOFP policies.
- Develop and manage related budgets in concert with the Director.
- Review and update the department's webpage quarterly to ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligns with organizational goals and initiatives.
- Supervise assigned contractors.
- Manage assigned special committees, ad hoc workgroups, and task forces.
- Support ACOFP's knowledge management documentation process by capturing and maintaining related procedures.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, major gifts, sponsorship sales, or business development within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries, required.
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field, preferred.
- Proven track record of securing 5- and 6-figure gifts and sponsorships from individuals, corporations, or foundations.
- Experience in exhibit or advertising sales for professional associations or conference-based environments is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Salesforce), CRM platforms, and sales tracking systems.
- Strong sales acumen, with the ability to close high-value deals and nurture long-term business relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. A high level of integrity, discretion, and professional judgment.
- Strategic thinking with strong analytical and project management skills.
- Ability to motivate and support board members, colleagues, and volunteers in fundraising and partnership activities.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to incorporate AI tools and technologies into daily work processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and impact.
- In your fully remote role, you will be required to travel to our Chicago office periodically.
- National travel throughout the year to meet large donors, attend conventions and exhibitions. (Approximately 6-8 trips per year.)
- Attendance at ACOFP's conventions will require stamina to work several sequential 12-hour days.
- Participation may be required in weekend meetings and evening conference calls throughout the year.
